London research trip 2017

London shop research trip

London is so beautiful at this time of year, with Christmas lights twinkling in every shop window, it really is magical!
On Regent Street, H&M's Christmas Visual Merchandising is beautiful and eye catching with a large, red fox in the window, capturing the time of year perfectly. Next to H&M in the row of H&M's shop clustering, Arket's flagship store sits proudly. It was the first time i'd been into an Arket store, and I was pleasantly surprised with how clean and modern the shop's interior was, and the great selection of clothing they had on offer. On Oxford Street, the Christmas lights and Visual Merchandising was mesmerizing, and sparkling. From huge Robins to an interactive Moz The Monster outside John Lewis, the Christmas displays certainly didn't disappoint! Department stores on regular high streets should take inspiration from London at this time of year! Moving away from Oxford Street we come to Saville Rowe, the prestigious home of tailoring, and onto New and Old Bond Street, where the lifestyles of the rich and famous are clustered. From Tiffany's, to Dior, Chanel to Louis Vuitton, all the glamorous, couture boutiques sit here. I must say, I am in love with Chanel's Visual Merchandising this season; so elegant and graceful, yet a subtle suggestion of Christmas is there, twinkling away.

The Somerset house exhibition, displaying Northern Fashion Identity was very interesting to wander around. It included fashion articles, fashion photography, photoshoots, fashion film and art work showing hardworking, Northern workers, Northern traditions and Northern Cities that have inspired fashion over the years. It made me quite proud to be northern!

At last we came to Covent Garden; my absolute favorite part of London! With the Royal Opera House, Royal Ballet School, multi million couture boutiques and small, quaint shops, along with the decorations, Covent Garden was a beautiful place to visit.

We had a fabulous time exploring London, and I hope to go again soon.

Until Next time
